Founder Mode – Episode 14 - 15-Minute Workout with Lou Perrotta

Episode 14 - 15-Minute Workout with Lou Perrotta

In this episode of Founder Mode, Jason and I chat with Coach Lou, a famous fitness trainer. Coach Lou helps founders remain sharp, in body and mind. He has coached athletes and business leaders for more than 50 years. His training equips founders with the focus and grit they need to succeed.

Kevin explained how important Coach Lou has been for his own mindset:

“It’s incredible what you can do in such a short time with focus. During those 15 minutes, you can't think about anything else. You're just focused on the next rep, the next step. That level of focus helps you achieve things you never thought were possible.”

Coach Lou shared his journey and how he started working out. His father introduced him to exercise at a very young age. That habit grew into a lifelong passion. He thinks success is built on small, steady efforts each day.

Coach Lou also talked about the importance of daily fitness. He calls it "fitness hygiene," similar to brushing your teeth every day. Regular exercise and healthy eating keep your mind sharp and body fit.

He saw that founders who don’t take care of their health often lose their edge. They begin to make bad choices and become less effective. Coach Lou says that being physically fit helps founders take risks, think better, and avoid bad habits.

He encourages everyone to "just show up" every day. To succeed, focus on being consistent and don’t overthink it. Even small actions, like a few push-ups, add up over time.

Kevin’s Advice from Coach Lou:

“The transformation I've had mentally and physically comes from daily reminders on nutrition and fitness. It doesn’t matter if you’re traveling or have no gym. You can always find a way to work out.”

Five Key Takeaways:

  1. Small, Daily Habits Lead to Success Doing a little each day leads to big success over time.
  2. Mental and Physical Health Go Together. Staying fit keeps your mind sharp.
  3. Take action. Don't overthink it. Just show up and do it.
  4. Good Habits Build Confidence. Being fit makes you feel strong. It also boosts your confidence.
  5. Use What You Have You don’t need fancy equipment; your body is enough for a great workout.

Final Thoughts:

Coach Lou shows founders that staying fit is key to success. Daily exercise, even for a few minutes, boosts mental clarity. It also increases confidence and resilience. A founder mindset grows with daily actions and strong habits. It also thrives when you avoid excuses. Every small action matters. Success comes from showing up daily.
